CDD is a design-oriented firm with experience ranging from large-scale commercial developments to residential complexes, mixed-use projects, and custom-designed houses.
We have built our accomplishments largely through person-to-person communication—an essential ingredient in developing successful and enjoyable projects. Our experience and background allow us to anticipate a client’s needs, even when those needs are not yet easy to express.
Creativity alone can produce a beautiful building that is not practical or economical. We believe successful design must provide the right solution to all three factors: beauty, practicality, and economy. Keeping clients closely involved throughout the process and addressing their concerns and ideas is an essential part of our firm’s mission.

Babak Bardi Chaharmahali, AIA
Registered Architect, State of California, Oklahoma and TexasBabak Bardi Chaharmahali, AIA, received his Master’s degree in Architecture in 1997. He founded California Development & Design, Inc. in 2003 as a design-build professional corporation.
He is a licensed architect in California, Oklahoma, and Texas and a licensed general contractor in California. His experience includes luxury single-family and multifamily residential projects, commercial buildings, mixed-use developments, green building, and sustainable design.
Babak is also a mentor for the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE) and provides private tutoring for students and new architectural license candidates.
